Episode 97: Must Have Tech Tools to Power your Sales Funnel

This episode is about the must-have tech tools to power your sales funnel.

We’re talking about tech tools. I love to keep things simple, so I’m going to keep it really simple and talk about the types of tools that you absolutely have to, have to, have to have and then also I’ll give you my recommendations of what I use and also what I use for my clients and I’m going to tell you why I’ve selected these types of tools.

I like to keep things simple, so I don’t like to have a whole range of different stuff that I don’t necessarily need. In fact, I just sat down not that long ago and went through all my subscriptions and thought, OK, I don’t need that, and I got really ruthless and I got rid of stuff that I hardly ever use or some of the stuff I just don’t even use at all.

There are four categories I’m going to be talking about today.

The first one is your email marketing software: very, very important.
The second one is landing page software. Again, also important.
The third one is image creation or image editors.
The fourth one is webinar software.

The first one I want to talk about is email marketing software.

Now this is so crucial. If you are just starting out and you’ve come across me, just want to let you know you cannot just send emails out to your audience from your Gmail account or Hotmail, whatever you have. You must have to have email marketing software and the reason is because you want to build your list; your list is gold and we really want to create, use software that we can actually build and create that email list.

Some of the key features that we have to have in our email marketing software now is tagging. Tagging is an essential feature that we want to have in our email marketing software.

Tagging allows us to put a little tag, and this happens automatically.

We can set it up all in the software; we put a little tag when someone takes a particular action or comes into our email list, perhaps from an opt-in that you’ve created from one particular opt-in. It might be about a particular subject, and we can tag them based on that. We start to segment our audience, get to know our audience better so we can give them really refined content for what they’re looking for.

I like to keep things really simple, so there are more advanced options out there for those that perhaps have a team or someone who can take care of all of that side for them. For those who don’t have a whole team taking care of everything for them, then I really recommend something like ConvertKit. ConvertKit is the one I love, I’ve been using it for a couple of years now.

I put all my clients onto ConvertKit because it has the functionality that you can tag.

You can also set up automations, you can see the automation sequences happening as people are going into it; there’s a lot of…and you can also set up landing pages as well in ConvertKit, which is really cool. ConvertKit is my recommendation. I will put the links all inside the show notes.

The second thing, the second tools that I love is using landing page software.

The reason why we want landing page software, you can go and build some landing pages in ConvertKit and they work fine. They don’t work as well as some other stuff but they’ll be good enough for now if you are just kind of looking at keeping costs down to get going.

Landing page software can make your landing pages look amazing and optimise them.

You can actually see, it’ll also give you statistics, so you can actually see how many people are coming to your landing page and how many people are actually opting in. There’s lots of other cool things that you can do with landing page software as opposed to just having a page on your website or as opposed to just using something like ConvertKit’s built-in landing page system.

I use Leadpages. I love Leadpages. It makes it really simple to create a whole opt-in, because I just duplicate another one, make some changes and it’s ready to go. I don’t have to go and play around with my website, I don’t have to do anything else, that all happens in Leadpages. And I can see what pages are working really well.

The third type of software that I really recommend that you get is when it comes to your image creation and editing.

We need good images. You can’t get by just taking photos on your phone any more and using them for your ads or using…I guess you can do that if you’re really good at taking photos, but we want to make sure that you have some really good images on your website and by using a software I like to use is called Canva.

Canva allows you to create Facebook ads because it gives you the templates

It gives you the sizing and everything like that ready to go; social media posts for all social media platforms. You can eve create blog images to put on your website.

The thing I want to mention here is that you absolutely must source your photos from something like Canva if you purchase those through Canva, or you purchase them from any other kind of image shop, I guess they’re called, library. Make sure you are not just copying and pasting images from someone else’s website or from Google or anything like that because you don’t own those images and that can really come back and bite you in the arse, so please make sure that you own all of the images that you’re putting on your website. To make that simple, Canva does sell images on there. If you have a Canva For Work subscription, it’s about fifteen dollars a month, gives you access to their photos, most of the photos are free in that, and so that is a great option. It’s a really affordable option and you can make some great images happening on there.

Finally, webinar software.

Webinar software is important if you’re at that stage of doing webinars, so if you’re just starting out, I recommend Zoom.

Zoom is a great, easy to use option.

If you’re looking at doing more automated webinars and things like that, then EverWebinar is a great option there. You want to make sure that you’re using something that is fairly simple to use because if it’s not simple for you to use, you’re just not going to do it. You go into all the costs and it might feel fancy that you’ve got this cool software, but unless you’re using it, it’s just a waste of money.
